All over the world, countries are facing the worst climatic changes and events that cannot be avoided. And the worst thing is that each year due to global warming these conditions are going to get worse. The conditions being assigned only to global warming the world has begun to unite in a global event called “Earth Hour”.
The main event is the shutting down of power for one hour all over the world. This is the fifth year, the Earth Hour is to be observed and participating countries are numerous.
Earth Hour is something we are again going to celebrate. Today, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm the lights will be turned off and people all over the world will stand in the darkness to raise awareness on climate change.
Washington DC, is no exception. The district participates in events at the municipal level, has a provisional time and earth time coordinated for the first time in history. The Department of the Interior is controlling the electricity of the monuments, which traditionally stay lit for safety reasons; other sites like the National Cathedral and the Judiciary Square will turn the lights off.
