Carl Gustav XVI denied in an interview to the news agency TT that he was photographed in a nightclub, with two naked women.
A former member of the mafia, Mille Markovic, said that he has compromising photographs with the king of Sweden (65 years old). “No, it is impossible that such a thing exists. It is difficult to comment on something you have never seen, and anyone else ever saw, actually”, said Carl Gustav, quoted by the British newspaper “The Telegraph”.
Royal House has asked the public television station TV4, which has argued in a report two weeks ago that a journalist would have seen those photos, to show them to prove that they are telling the truth. The TV report, and also a new book launched on the market claim that the king’s closest friends had offered money to block the publication of compromising photos.
A childhood friend of the Swedish monarch, Ander Lettstroem, admitted recently that he had contacted people in the underworld, but stressed that he did so on his own initiative, without any connection with the king.
The new scandal comes just six months after the publication of a biography of the King, in which three Swedish journalists spoke about the parties attended by Carl Gustav and his adventures with young women.
Latest opinion polls show that most Swedes expect the king to abdicate as soon as possible and leave the throne to his daughter, Princess Victoria, more popular than him.
