Katy was performing at the inaugural version of BBC Radio 1 Teen Radio Awards in London and gave what may be the performance of the night. The singer started to cry as she took to the stage and said, “I’m allowed to be emotional. Thank you so much for supporting me in this song because it means so much to me.”
Perry was also presenting the Teen Hero award to Connor Rowntree, 16, from Sunderland. Connor has undergone nearly 100 operations after he was left with severe burns following an accident and now fronts a fire safety campaign.
“The kids are SO loud here at the Radio 1 Teen Awards. Loudest I think I’ve ever heard! This is gonna be amazing,” Perry wrote on her Twitter.
Just last week, Perry was at the European Music Awards in Madrid, Spain, and performed at a Microsoft and AT&T-sponsored event in New York where she called out the sponsors for their cash bar. She also gave a stunning performance at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show last Wednesday in New York. She may just be the hardest working person in show-business currently.
Katy’s husband Russell Brand recently revealed just how normal their married life was when he said, “It’s just a normal marriage, the other day, I put a shirt on and she went…’You’re wearing that shirt, are you?'”
“I thought, ‘That’s actually happening?’ That’s a thing off a sitcom. That happened in my actual life. I wasn’t allowed to wear it. If she says don’t wear that shirt, I don’t wear it,” he said.
