Actress Isabella Rossellini, aged 59, still considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, believes that fashion magazines, even the famous Vogue, contain fashion tips only for young women, and those older are forgotten.
Speaking of Vogue magazine in particular, the actress said that she only reads the pages dedicated to social events, not those dedicated to fashion, informs dailymail.co.uk.
“I do not read Vogue wondering what to wear, because everything is presented for very young bodies. I must look on the pages dedicated to social events to see women my age, to see how Amanda Burden is dressed and thinking that maybe I should try the same thing”, said Rossellini.
Magazines “only give advice to young people: ‘If you are brunette, this is the color most beneficial to you’. “But I would like better the magazine if they write: ‘If you are 60 years old and your neck looks like this, you could wear this dress'”, said the star.
Rossellini, who was also a model and appeared on the covers of magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair, spoke about women who inspire her. She said that she is aspiring at Jackie Onassis style and Georgia O’Keefe, but she also praised Catherine Deneuve and Meryl Streep.
She said that her style is a fashion choice she made since she was close to the age of 30 and began working as a model.
“A great bag, jewelry and red lipstick and you’re ready”, she said.
As for her mother, Ingrid Bergman, a symbol of style, Isabella Rossellini recalls that the ’40-’50s Hollywood star was often asked what to wear.
On the other hand, Elettra Wiedemann, the daughter aged 28 of Isabella Rossellini, said that her mother is always elegant, both in public and at home.
“Even though we are in our home, she is always very elegant”, said Elettra Wiedemann.
Isabella Rossellini is one of the most famous actresses of her generation, in recent years becoming a respected film director and producer.
