Germans at Opel have released the first photos of the new Astra GTC in OPC version (Opel Performance Center), announcing the launch on the market for the next summer. Its rivals already on the market are Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST. Astra OPC sports coupe is powered by a turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 2 liters and direct injection system. Performance: 206 kW/280 hp output and maximum torque of 400 Nm. Astra OPC could reach a speed of 250 km/h, being the fastest to date Astra model.
According to the manufacturer, the exclusive body of the GTC Astra OPC expresses pure passion for power and speed. With its sporty look, Astra GTC represented so far the expression of the most emotional design language of the Opel brand but the OPC version displays its power. The OPC has now a sporty air thanks to a set of front and rear bumpers specially sculpted, side skirts, aerodynamic roof spoiler with two trapezoidal tailpipes. Inside, the compact sport car is equipped with performance seats, a sporty leather steering wheel and special gauges.

V6 turbo gasoline engine of 2.8 liters (239 kW/325 hp) is the most powerful mass-product in the history of Opel. In version “Unlimited”, Insignia OPC reaches a top speed of 270 km/h, depending on the type of equipment and transmission used.
