Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis announced that they separated after a relationship that lasted almost 14 years. Actor’s spokesman confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the two were separated. “Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis parted ways amicably. They want everybody to respect their privacy and, especially, that of their children,” said the agent for the American in a press release for the “Entertainment Tonight” website. Vanessa Paradis, aged 39, and Johnny Depp, aged 49, are parents of two children – Lily-Rose, 13 years old, and Jason Jack, 10 years old, writes DailyMail. co.uk. The two, who were never married, have not been seen together in public since 2010.
Vanessa did not participate in any promotional event for Depp’s latest movies “Dark Shadows” and “The Rum Diaries” in which he starred with actress Amber Heard, aged 26, to whom the actor would be in love. The news of their separation comes a month after the couple announced that they “try” to make their relationship work. Recently, French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis said she did not believe in the idea that each person has a soul mate and said she was “scared” of this possibility. Parents of two children, the two artists were not married and lived together in the South of France, at Hollywood and on a private island in the Caribbean.
Johnny Depp was married to Lori Anne Allison between 1983 and 1985 and had a highly publicized relationship with actress Winona Ryder in the early 1990s. Rumors about the Paradis-Depp couple split appeared several months ago. In January, French artist denied these rumors in a show of the TV station Canal+. “The rumor is false, of course it’s false,” said Vanessa. She then tried to reject media speculation: “We part ways in winter, but every summer we get married”. The actress talked about her children, trying to warn the media and protect them: “This rumor may indeed do more harm to my family.” Johnny Depp also denied rumors about the couple split in May, in an interview with British tabloid The Sun.
