Some of the most valuable possessions of the famous actress will be auctioned by Christie’s auction house.
The auction house will keep the objects that have belonged to Elizabeth Taylor at its Rockefeller Center gallery: jewelry, clothes, accessories, decorative art objects, and souvenirs will be exhibited for 10 days starting December 3. Before that a three-month international tour starting in September will bring the collection to Hong Kong, Dubai, Moscow, Geneva, Paris, London and Los Angeles.
The highlight of the tour will be in New York, where the exhibition which will last ten days will be followed by an auction session, held for four consecutive days.
Part of the earnings collected from auctions will go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF), established by the famous actress in 1991, proving that Elizabeth Taylor was a movie star, a fashion model, and also a dedicated Humanitarian.
The exhibition will be “a window on the true life of a female model who managed to be in the same time an international film star, an elegant woman, a loving mother, a businesswoman, and also a humanitarian”, said Christie’s chairman in America.
“Those who come to see this exhibition will be able to access personal layers of the existence of a unique spirit that was Elizabeth Taylor, and immerse in admiration and delight”, he added.
