Audi family will just become more numerous after the launch in Paris of the new convertible model Audi RS5 that brings a fresh breath of dynamism and elegance, specific to the German manufacturer.
It’s an Audi. It’s RS5. It’s convertible. It looks gorgeous, and will debut this month at the Paris Motor Show 2012. Hardly can anyone hide their delight at the sight of the graceful silhouette of the new RS5 Cabriolet which exudes through every pore dynamics and perfect balance between shapes.

The first thing that catches your eye is the hexagonal front grille with the brushed aluminum frame woven in a honeycomb pattern. It follows the xenon headlights, trapezoidal shaped, and the LED daytime running lights. The body is flowing gracefully toward the back, to its rear appearance of the LED taillights and the oval shape of the exhaust pipe. Finally we note the 19-inch wheels, forged aluminum, with 10 spokes.
The soft top needs only the touch of a button to open and the closing is done automatically in 15 or 17 seconds, even at speeds up to 50 km/h. With the roof down, RS5 has about 320 of the 380 liters of storage available for luggage. The convertible configuration requires for the Audi RS5 Cabriolet body dimensions of 4,649 mm in length, 1,860 mm wide and 1,380 mm in height. It is available in eight colors, while the retractable fabric roof can be ordered in black, gray, red or brown.

The engine of the convertible lives up to the exterior, RS5 Cabriolet is powered by a 4.2 liter V8 FSI engine and 450 hp, effectively managed by the gearbox S-Tronic dual-clutch and Quattro all-wheel drive system. Although it weighs a little more than the coupe, the Audi RS5 Cabriolet accelerates smoothly from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but the model is able to reach the threshold of 280 km/h, which is due to the air drag value of 0.34.
According to Audi, the RS5 Cabriolet will have a base price of 88,500 euros, and the first models will be available for sale at dealerships in Germany in the spring of 2013.
