Backstage View of Oscars Available

The backstage viewing of Oscars will be available for viewing against a fee. This offer has been made by ABC and Motion Picture Academy through video streaming which will be available online and as an application.

In an attempt to make the biggest celebrity obsession combine with the latest technology, viewers of the Academy Awards will be allowed to view the backstage happenings for a fee. The occasion that was previously only for tuxedo and jeweled celebrities will now be available to others aswell.

Broadcast Network ABC and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will be unveiling the video streaming on Oscar.com website which will show the usually hidden details of the Oscar night. The videos will broadcast the mingling of celebrities at a lobby bar, the final hair and makeup touches that are provided by artists to the presenters going onstage and the award winner’s post-ceremony party at the Governors Ball.

The video streaming is an attempt to grab attention of a nation that is usually multi-tasking by surfing online, sending text messages or talking on the phone while watching television.

This offer is not an attempt to grab the attention of young viewers but it’s an experiment by the producers to get money from the viewers who are willing to pay a price to view exclusive online content.

The viewers will be charged $4.99 to avail the All Options feature. This feature provides view from 28 cameras that cover the red carpet, the Kodak Theatre, the back stage and the ball.

Ric Robertson, Motion Picture Academy’s executive administrator when questioned that the celebrities might be annoyed, said that this is not different from the photographers who cover every minute of the show and the producers have drawn a line to maintain the privacy of the celebrities which will be maintained by the cameras as well.
