The 30-year-old singer Christina Aguilera was detained on late Monday night by the police in Los Angeles after the police became aware that the driver violated several traffic rules. According to Associated Press, Aguilera was in a car driven by her friend, Matthew Rutler, who was drunk at the time and was stopped for a routine police check.
Police detained Rutler, while Aguilera was conducted to the police station and held there in an advanced state of intoxication. There were rumors lately that Christine’s friends have been trying to convince her to go to rehab and treat her alcohol addiction. The singer has recently separated from her husband, Jordan Bratman.
Christina Aguilera spent the night in police custody in West Hollywood, leaving the building at 7:30 AM through the rear exit to avoid a papparazi army waiting for them in front of the police station. Rutler was released from custody several hours later, after the $30,000 bail was posted.
