Giants Win Over Redskins And Carry on in NFC East

New York Giants defeated the Washington Redskins in a 31-7 thrashing on Sunday. They scored four quick touchdowns, keeping pace with Eagles at the top.

Brandon Jacobs scored from 28 and 10 yards, while Ahmad Bradshaw scored from 10 and 4 yards. The Giants now have an 8-4 record while Redskins have a 5-7 record.

Giants coach said that the win was very important for them, as it sets the pace in the division. He also praised the quality play of the two running backs.

Redskins, who are ranked bottom of the NFL in yard allowed, were defeated easily by the Giants who were relying on their running attack although missing their two receivers owing to a injury.

On a cold day, Jacobs ran some 103 yards on eight carries and Bradshaw ran some 97 yards in the second half.

Redskins’ coach Mike Shanahan told of the embarrassment he and his team faced because of their tackling and turnovers.

Giants scored in their first two times they got the ball, the first time they have done this feat this season.

Defensive end Justin Tuck said that Bradshaw and Jacobs’ running was the main reason behind the team’s awesome performance. He said that their play fired them up.

Players like Derek Hagan Devin Thomas were praised by Tuck who said these players have filled the gap left by the injuries to the main players well. Devin Thomas was picked up by Giants after being cut by Redskins in October.

The scoring was completed by a punt attempt by Thomas that led to a fourth-quarter field goal.

Tuck praised the effort of his players and their spirit.

Eli Manning had one interception and made 15 passes for 161 yards when the Giants were first and five from the five. Skins quarterback McNabb had 2 interceptions, a lost fumble and completed 26 of 44 passes for 296 yards.
