The Priceline group announced on Monday the launch of the Android version of its most popular free travel application, Hotel Negotiatior.
The newest application for Android allows travelers to find and book last-minute accommodation and save 50 percent of the published rates through Priceline’s service Name Your Own Price. The app can be acquired for free from the Android market.
Android-compatible Hotel Negotiator provides listed that can be sorted by a variety of factors, such as proximity, location, stars, pricing. All the listings include, aside the address, customer satisfaction scores, reviews, descriptions and photos, as well as maps.
According to company representatives, the application is dedicated to on-the-road travelers who need to find accommodation fast, by either bidding on available rooms or selecting from a list of available hotel rooms and they can do so until 11pm on the night they require the room.
The bidding option is supported by features that allow users to see Winning Bids recommendations and Instant Bid results. With Instant Bid, the traveler will instantly know if the bid for a room was accepted and, if the bid was accepted, the application will pull the details of the hotel and its location. Furthermore, the application provides a shake-down geo-locator-triggered hotel search. Basically, shaking the Android device will prompt it to pinpoint the owner’s location and perform a Winning Bids search for the area. Winning Bids displays several bid wins by other travelers that use the Priceline mobile resources.
The iPhone compatible version of Hotel Negotiator, released in 2009, has become one of the most popular free applications dedicated to travel arrangements on the App Store.
