Robbie Williams has communist sympathies

British singer Robbie Williams believes that the communist ideology – that supports a society without classes, based on the principle of common ownership – is preferable to capitalism.

The British artist recognizes that his political beliefs sometimes creates “problems”, especially at this time, when he wants to buy a Rolls Royce car, informs music-news.com.

“Capitalist Conspiracy? I agree with you. The system will explode and I think this will happen soon. If we could make communism function without corruption, I prefer it. The Rolls Royce Phantom car is the ultimate symbol (for me) of our desire to have ‘things’. They are just nonsense.

Consumption, consumption, consumption. We are at a critical point, friends”, the British singer said on his blog.

“Attach the seat belts, we are in a stormy race. I am a socialist capitalist, and this leads me to a sense of guilt”, added Williams.

At age 37, the British star seems so caught up in the dilemma created by his political beliefs and his passion for luxury, that he asked his fans to help him decide whether to spend more than 300,000 pounds on such a car.

“I have a problem with the Rolls Royce Phantom lately. In fact, I’ve had it for a few years. I would like to have one. But I thought a lot about you and what you think about me. I know it would be a vulgar show of wealth. I think that I ask your permission in this way. Let’s vote. If the majority vote for, it will be ok, I will indulge in such a car. If you vote against, then I will not buy it. Seriously”, the singer added.

In July last year, Williams released the news that he will re-unite with the band Take That, which he left in 1995 to launch a solo career. The five members of the Take That band have not been playing together for 15 years, but have released a new album, entitled “Progress” in November 2010.

There were spectacular album sales records after fans bought 235,000 copies on the first day of its release.
