A survey in the United States revealed that Facebook the best big company in the US to be employed at. The survey was made by a career website and the results were published on Wednesday.
According to Glassdoor, the website that made the survey, the social network giant tops Southwest Airlines and management consulting company Bain&Company. The Glassdoor website arrived at these conclusions after analyzing its users’ feedbacks on their employers.
Among other things, the study also revealed that work places with poor communication have the unhappiest employees, while the highest rated firms were those with a distinct and solid company culture, according to Glassdoor chief executive Robert Bohman.
Glassdoor users also rated the companies they worked for on factors such as management competency and payment for the work done.
The fourth and fifth places went to General Mills and the public relations company Edelman. Also in the top ten companies to work for were consulting companies Boston Consulting and Slalom Consulting, the software firm SAS Institute, online shop Overstock and private equity investors Susquehanna International Group.
The study was conducted in the US and it was based on more than 150,000 reviews submitted by users of the Glassdoor career portal. The user reviews were submitted in 2010 and they were all referring to companies with more than 500 employees.
