Worldwide fans of the wizard boy are looking forward to see what character’s “mother”, British writer JK Rowling, has in mind
J.K. Rowling recently launched an enigmatic site, Pottermore.com. Until today, there only two owls, the word “soon” and the signature of the famous writer. Even more mysterious, no notice about the creation of the site has been released, and until recently, the access to the Pottermore.com page could be made only through a real hunt for clues, through 10 other sites. As per the comments on the website in Time magazine, “the enthusiasm that this Treasure Hunt produced to fans it can be easily guessed”.
If you go on with curiosity, and click the mouse on one of the owls, you are automatically redirected to a YouTube account populated with an animation in which owls and falling leafs appear, but more importantly, a countdown that will expire today, June 23.
What is it to find out then?
Fans hope that Rowling will write again and will continue the story of Harry Potter forever. She has previously said that “she is not sure that she will write another book about the little magician”, but, as per Time magazine, it is assumed that the term “Pottermore” is the last recorded under her license in July 2009.
And, as the American magazine ironically said, we had just started to think that would be nothing wrong if we read other books.
Pottermore.com, an online video game?
According to latest indications, the new project would actually be an online video game, which would be based on the adventures of the little wizard.
International press is talking about a video game that will combine elements of World of Warcraft with hunt for clues. But the prizes will be awarded in the real world.
Harry Potter books have sold over 450 million copies worldwide. The adventures of the little wizard were also on cinema screens, bringing good money to the Hollywood. JK Rowling is considered by Forbes magazine the richest woman in Britain with a fortune estimated at one billion dollars.
Rebecca Salt, the spokeswoman of JK Rowling, firmly denies in a statement published this morning that Pottermore would be a game online. “The British press showed imagination in interpreting a document leaked from an agency involved in this project. I can tell you categorically that this is not about a treasure hunt or a game”, said Rebecca.
