Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers new star (6 ft 10″) and an Oklahoma City native, won the slam dunk contest yesterday, the All Star Weekend Gala, hosted at the Staple Staples Center in Los Angeles. He was the first round (1st pick) by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2009.
The competition was fierce, DeMar DeRozan, a 6 ft 7″ wing from Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizard’s center JaVale McGee (7ft, 1st round, 18th pick in 2008) and the Congolese forward Serge Ibaka (6 ft 10″, 1st round, 24th pick in 2008) were also showing excellent skills.
Griffin has won the competition was a slam dunk made after he jumped over a car. JeVale McGee finished in second place.
In the same event, Kobe Bryant, the LA Lakers superstar ones, was the first Basketball player that placed his stamp in the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
