Brain Activity Altered by Cell Phone Calls

The brain cell activity tends to change in the part of the brain which is nearest to the antenna and using cell phone for 50 minutes is enough to cause it.

Scientists from the National Institute of Health have not confirmed that it causes any harm, but added that there are still concerns about the linkage between cell phones and brain cancer.

Those people who are using the cell phone get an increased glucose metabolism which is a sign of brain activity inside the place which is nearest to the antenna according to Dr. Nora Volkow of National Institute of Health who had her study published in American Medical Association Journal.

The purpose of the study was to observe the brain reaction to electromagnetic fields which is due to signals from the wireless device.

Dr. Nora was amazed to find how the weak radiation from the mobile phones can influence the activity inside brain, but the findings from the study did not mention if cancer can be caused by cellular phones.  There is no indication in the study regarding that, but it does show that brain is affected by electromagnetic radiations which are caused by long exposures from mobile phones.

Cell phones were introduced in mid 1980 and since then their use has increased a lot and currently 5 billion mobile phones are being used worldwide.

Many studies have revealed that cell phones cause an increased risk of brain cancer but the study conducted by World Health Organization did not conclude it. 47 people were studied by Dr. Nora’s team in which their brains were scanned when phone was being used and then when it was not in use.
