“The ship was escorted into Harwich Port (south-east England) by the HMS Vigilant, said a ministry spokesman.
“Containers were unloaded from the boat and were confiscated”, he added.
“The ship contained a significant amount of money for Libya,” the ministry. Asked about the information in the press indicating an amount of 100 million Pounds ($117 million), the spokesman said, “that is right.”
UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution imposing sanctions to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, family and relatives of the regime.
Wednesday, Britain froze Libyan accounts, which could be up to 20 billion Pounds ($23 million), according to Daily Telegraph.
