Forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli have killed over 10,000 people during the conflict in Libya. In addition, other more than 20,000 Libyans  are wounded and 30,000 missing, according to a rebel representative cited on news24.com.

“We have about 10,000 people killed by Gaddafi’s soldiers, about 20,000 missing and 30,000 injured, of which 7,000 are in danger of losing their life,” said Ali Al Isawi an official of the National Transition Council.

“There must be more efforts put in place to protect civilians from Gaddafi’s aggression”, said the Libyan official, who attended the meeting of foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

William Hague: “The war will end at some point”

British Foreign Minister, William Hague, said today that Libya’s military intervention will end with the departure of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi from power, but he couldn’t say when this will happen.

Visiting Qatar for a meeting of the Contact Group on Libya, Hague considers that the Libyan opposition is gradually becoming better organized.

British foreign minister could not estimate when the military intervention in Libya will come to an end, “it will end at some point, with Gaddafi’s departure, starting a political process in Libya, which will be more comprehensive”.

“Do not underestimate what has been done there. With the raids, there have been thousands of lives saved”, Hague said, quoted by BBC.
