The number of police on the streets of London will raised from 6,000 to 16,000

The number of policemen deployed in London will be increased from 6,000 to 16,000, announced Tuesday, British Prime Minister, David Cameron, who said that authorities “will do everything necessary to restore order”, reports BBC News.

Cameron also announced the convening of the British Parliament in an extraordinary session to debate the street riots of recent days. “Of course, we will do everything necessary to restore order on British streets, so they are safe for the law-abiding people”, he said.

Cameron said that the riots are “simply, crime” to be “confronted and defeated” and added that all police vacation in London was canceled and police number in the capital will be increased.

“You will feel the full force of law. And if you’re big enough to commit these crimes, then you are big enough to face the punishment”, said British Prime Minister.

According to Sky News, Cameron interrupted his holiday in Tuscany and returned to the UK to chair an emergency Cobra committee meeting and discuss with police commanders.

Security forces have been trying for several days to end the most violent riots in decades, during which groups of young people broke windows, looted shops and burned buildings. More than 450 people were detained in London since Saturday, three of which are suspected of attempted murder of police officers.
