Pop Princess Britney Spears is likely to extend her stay in Las Vegas, after she was reportedly offered $12 million. This is after a top executive of Caesars Entertainment admitted that the company is pleased with the results of her shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Axis Theater.
“Britney Spears has been a great success for the company and will be extended, if she wants to do it, and I cannot see why not. She has been filling out the place every night, and she is enjoying it and is in good health,” Gary Selesner, President of Caesars Palace, was quoted telling to the New York Daily News.
“She has a good life, coming in on private jet. She has a villa upstairs at Caesars and really enjoys it here — so why wouldn’t she stay?” Selesner added, who later admitted that getting the singer is like a “gamble.” Britney Spears released her eighth album “Britney Jean” in November 2013, and her lowest charting album in the U.S.
Spears, now 32, has been performing on the 4,600-capacity theater since December last year. Based on the initial deal, the “Britney: Piece of Me” shows, directed by Baz Halpin, has 50 performances per year and is due until December 2015. Each performance is set to last 90 minutes.
Once the new deal goes through, Britney Spears will have 30 more shows at Planet Hollywood and will stay in Las Vegas until December 2016. The “Toxic” singer has been performing her old and new hit songs, and is reportedly earning $30 million for her 2-year stint in Las Vegas.
From December 27, 2013 to February 22, 2014, “Britney: Piece of Me” had 100% attendance and earned more than $30.4 million. After nearly two months of rest, it continued on April 22 and will last until May 17. The next schedule of shows will be from August 16, 2014 to September 6, 2014.
In general, the show receives positive reviews with critics saying that Britney Spears has not yet lost her “magic” when it comes to entertaining her fans.
