Hosni Mubarak will be Questioned in a Corruption Case

Former President Hosni Mubarak, who is living in Sharm El-Sheikh, at his residence, will be taken to Cairo next week to be questioned in a corruption case, according to a former member of Parliament, Mustafa Bakri, quoted by CNN.

Bakri said he learned this information from the Prosecutor General of Egypt.

Attorney General, Mahmoud Abdel Maguid, issued Monday an order blocking the assets held by Hosni Mubarak and his family, and forbidding them to leave Egypt.

Bakri, a former member of Parliament who lost his place after he initiated legal action against several corrupt officials has provided documents showing that the Mubarak family has over 147 million dollars in bank accounts.

“We submitted the corruption case on Sunday evening and Monday morning I was summoned by the prosecution”, said Bakri.

Through lawyers, Mubarak described the information about his wealth as “hearsay and fabrication”.
