On Monday the Trail Blazers got the advantage of absence of Dwight Howard and succeeded against the Orlando Magic.
According to Brandon Roy during his sixth play back after an absence of two months due to knee injuries their main thing was not giving up as they wanted to be definite to attack and get to the middle as they knew that Howard was not there defending and there was no backup center.
LaMarcus Aldridge who is Portland’s key man took the day having 24 points as Blazers got the sixth consecutive victory straight away using 11-2 run late during the further quarter turning deficit of one point into win.
The victory helped Blazers in moving into sixth being only a half game following Denver Nuggets who were at the fifth place. 15 points were added by Ander Miller in an effort which was quite balanced as the visitors moved away late.
Although Orlando was trailing most of the time during the contest it moved in front by 79-78.
Wesley Matthews gave advantage of 88-81 with just only three minutes left.
Team-high was scored by Jason Richardson which was 22 points; however, it was managed by the home team just six points during the last seven minutes losing their second consecutive game as well as both contests this season with Portland.
The Magic remained fourth in East conference as Ryan Anderson and Turkoglu finished having 13 points.
Stan Van Gundy, who is the coach for Orlando, remarked that they did not lose the game due to Dwight Howard’s absence but the reason for losing was that they had 18 turnovers against seven and they need to take accountability for it including all of them.
