Libya: pro-Gaddafi Forces Attacked Zawiya Again

Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi on Saturday bombed a square in the town of Zawiya, 50 km west of Tripoli, town residents reported.

“The attack has begun. I see more than 20 tanks, ” a resident announced by telephone from the market. Another resident confirmed that clashes broke out again, adding that pro-Gaddafi forces used tanks and mortars.

After heavy fighting in the morning, causing at least seven dead people, Colonel Muammar Gadhafi’s forces had retreated in the center of Zawiya.
