Lightning Grounded by Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins pulled a 5-1er against Tampa Bay Lightning, boosted by what was Marc-Andre Fleury’s best performance of the season.

Fleury claims to have done nothing different from a technical viewpoint, but he said that he was more relaxed than usual and he was focused on just playing hockey. Getting the win in the end was the cherry on top.

This was the second game that Andre Fleury joined at the start and stayed all through the end, as he temporarily lost his position to backup Brent Johnson. It is also the game that bought him his 150th career victory.

The Penguins scored through Alex Goligoski, Sidney Crosby, Deryk Engelland, Pascal Dupuis and Max Talbot. The Penguins repressed Tampa Bay’s attackers, who only got 16 shots in the game.

The win is only the third the Penguins had in a string of nine games.

With depleted energy and an incomplete lineup, missing captain Vinny Lecavalier, Steve Downie and Simon Gagne, the Lightning appeared worn out. It was their second game in just as many nights, and Coach Guy Boucher said that the team’s energy level is slowly decreasing.
