Prince William and Kate Middleton, expecting a baby

William Kate pregnantThe royal couple Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby, as confirmed today by the press service of the British royal family.

The announcement was made after Catherine, aged 30, was taken to King Edward Hospital in London. Duchess of Cambridge, admitted into the hospital with an apparently quite strong nausea, will remain for a few days under observation, according to CNN.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter,” it said in a statement issued by Clarence House, the official residence of Prince William.

Following a visit to Cambridge, a visibly nervous British lady, who wanted very much for Prince William and his wife Catherine to have a child in the near future, gave them baby clothing. Speculations on the Catherine’s pregnancy have been in the press for a long time.

During a visit to Singapore in September, on a tour organized to celebrate the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the international press has widely reported Prince William’s statement, who expressed his desire to have “two children” with his wife, Catherine.

Also, Prince William spoke in an interview with American ABC television in May, about the desire to have children with his wife, as the international press wrote at the time. The Prince, second in line to the British throne after his father Prince Charles, confessed then that he and his wife want to become parents, without specifying a time when this would happen.

On the other hand, American tabloid Globe wrote last year that Duchess Catherine suffered a miscarriage. According to sources quoted by that tabloid, Prince William was not with Catherine when she had the miscarriage.

According to other rumors appeared in May, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Catherine’s mother, would have told some close friends that the young bride can not have children.

“Some medical complications from Kate’s adolescence is a real warning regarding her ability to have children,” said sources close to Camilla Parker-Bowles’ entourage.

Both William and his father Prince Charles were born soon after their parents were married, and the current royal couple Kate-William are under huge pressure exerted by public opinion for having soon an heir to the throne.

“If Kate will not get pregnant in the next nine months, she will defy the old British tradition of 200 years,”

said Andrew Morton, a renowned biographer of the British royal family.

Kate Middleton married Prince William in April 2011, in a lavish ceremony in London, meant to “repair” the British monarchy reputation, seriously affected by the “dark years” that followed the divorce of Charles and Diana.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – the official titles of the two young royal couple – have managed to go through the first year of marriage “without fault” as experts unanimously say in the official British royal history.
