Sara Blakely, from $5,000 to one billion dollars in just 12 years

Sara BlakelySpanx is a word known to most women. This is a type of clothing that “hides” unwanted forms, reports Business Insider. The product creator, Sara Blakely, came for the first time in the elite of world billionaires, according to the classification of this year’s U.S. magazine Forbes. Spanx, the company Blakely founded, is valued at one billion dollars. Forbes reveals some details about the success of Blakely. For example, she learned to fill herself the patent applications for the products from a book which helped her to save 3,000 dollars in legal costs.

She worked at Disney World for three months and spent eight hours a day as an entertainer. Lively is the youngest billionaire who built her own fortune, not inherited. Spanx, Inc., the Atlanta, Georgia, based hosiery company founded in 2000 is the wholly-owned company that has enriched her; she did not spend any money on advertising. If when she was 29 years old, she had $5,000 in savings, she came to have a fortune of one billion dollars now, at the age of 41 years.

Lively showed eccentricity throughout her career. One such moment was when she wore a boot on one foot and a shoe with high heel on the other or when she wore a necklace and a bracelet made of sweets at a Screen Actors Guild Awards gala because she had forgotten her jewels at the hotel. She witnessed a fatal accident when she was 16 at a time when her best friend was hit by a car. This experience marked her throughout life.
“I think when you see death with your own eyes at 16, you look at life as something a lot more important. I think a lot of death. I find it very motivating. Anytime your turn could come”.
