Sarah Palin, an important figure of the ultraconservative movement, Tea Party, said Wednesday in an interview that it considers itself able to defeat President Barack Obama, at the next U.S. presidential elections, in about two years.
In this interview made by ABC, Palin, who ran for U.S. vice presidency in 2008, has not made clear whether she intends to obtain the investiture of the Republican Party to run against the current president.
“I’m looking at the lay of the land now, and … trying to figure that out, if it’s a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it’s a good thing,” said Sarah Palin in this interview which will be fully published on December 9.
Asked if she would be able to defeat Barack Obama, Palin replied: “I believe so.”
Sarah Palin resigned from her post as governor of Alaska last year and she’s no longer engaged in any elective office. She has a contract with the conservative TV channel Fox as a commentator and an eight-part documentary that she made in Alaska is currently running at another American television.
A year ago, she published a book entitled “Going Rogue: An American Life.” His new book, “America by Heart: Reflections on family, faith, and flag” will be published next Tuesday.
