Woods Lost Australian Masters Title

Ending a not-so-bright performance with eagle-par-birdie-eagle at the final four holes, Tiger Woods lost the Australian masters title to Stuart Appleby in the roar of the crowds. In the past year, ever since he got the gold jacket in Melbourne, Woods has not won any titles.

Questions are now rising about whether or not former world’s number one golfer will make a comeback in 2011. Some even wonder if his well-known mental strength will survive the dry year that was 2010.

Tiger Woods was left 10 shots behind leader Adam Bland , after a third round of even par 71 on Saturday. In the past year, ever since he got the gold jacket in Melbourne, Woods has not won any titles.

Regarding his Saturday game, he told reporters that while he knew the greens were slower than usual he was having difficulty making the necessary adjustments, leaving many of his seemingly successful putts on the lip.

He admitted he was far behind, and that he cannot control anything but his participation in the game. If his putts would have had the normal rate of success he would only need a couple of shots to get in the lead.

After starting his day in a similar unlucky fashion on Sunday, he managed to have an energizing recovery, but as he put it – it was “too little, too late”. After Tiger Woods’ name missed from the leading board during the entire tournament, Sunday’s game put him on it following a dramatic turn of luck, with four last shots that made his fans roar.
