Jeremy Lin hits his first career triple-double

Jeremy Lin James HardenJeremy Lin has finally landed his first ever triple-double in his NBA career, 29 minutes off the bench on Saturday night at the Toyota Center. Houston Rockets won against Cleveland Cavaliers, 106-92. The victory was the third straight win for the team, winning 5 of 6 six games at home, and now with 32 wins and 17 losses.

“I never really thought about it until everybody told me it was going to happen. I think anytime you get on the floor you have a chance to make an impact. I was just trying to be aggressive. Once you get on the floor, once you get a chance to play it’s just basketball.” Lin said after the game. The 6 ft 3” Harvard-graduate now has an average of 13.4 points per game with the Rockets.

Lin, whose “Linsanity fever” went viral while playing for the New York Knicks in 2011, scored 15 points, with 11 rebounds and 10 assists, as he comes off bench. He now becomes the second Rockets player with a triple-double, after Cedric Maxwell made his off the bench during the 1997-98 NBA season.

Meanwhile, James Harden had 28 points with 4 assists and 3 rebounds; he did not play during the last two games due to a left thumb injury. Dwight Howard, finished the game with 26 points, and Terrence Jones, had 17 points. The team had a 19-point advantage during the first half, ending the half-time at 61-52.

For the Cavaliers, Luol Deng led the team with 24 points, followed by Kyrie Irving chipping in 21 points, and Dion Waiters, 19 points. The Cavs made an 11-0 run second half and had a 2-point lead, 63-61. However, the Rockets made a comeback soon after. This is their fourth straight loss, with a disappointing record of 16 wins and 31 losses.

Cleveland Cavaliers will face Dallas Mavericks this Monday at the American Airlines Center, while Houston Rockets will go against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, still at Toyota Center.
